“Marking the 150th edition of the Mood Series, Sonic Buckwit returns for his second appearance with Subcortical, a six-track expedition that blends cerebral rhythm with patient restraint. Each piece feels ideal for the head and the feet. It's an exploration of subtlety and sonic depth that reinforces why this long-running series continues to be a cornerstone of modern dub techno. Opening with 'Echoes of the Limbic', Buckwit works with a delicate percussion and soft, purposeful chords that glide like architecture in sound. They are breezy yet intentional, a gentle introduction and an ideal set opener for any mood-setting DJ. 'Void Groove' follows with a refined touch of house, featuring punchy bass notes and a clean, confident pace. It’s catchy but never forced and it's quirky in tone, classy in delivery. The EP grows darker with 'Synergy Error', where a deep, resonant bassline and eerie textures evoke the feeling of entering a sealed laboratory. The melody soon unfolds into something lush and cinematic, pulling the listener into an otherworldly atmosphere. Magnificent work here from Buckwit. 'Quantumorbis' then shifts the mood, channeling early 2000s Cologne minimalism with its stripped-back dub techno structure, making it great for bridging phases in a DJ set. 'Nervus Vetus' feels like a space voyage rendered in rhythm: echoing chords, percussive micro-details and a faint progressive pulse guiding the journey. Closing track 'Hypnagogic Hallucinations' is both immersive and disorienting, merging a techy groove with a sense of floating unease, as if waking from a lucid dream. With Subcortical, Sonic Buckwit refines atmosphere into narrative form. It’s precise yet exploratory, evoking a feeling that lies between deep space and deep thought. This is once again, proof that even 150 releases in, the Mood Series remains deeply connected to its name. "

Kamnyn Tÿsÿ

The title translates from Altai as "Shaman's Dream." This isn't just a track—it's an auditory vision, an immersion into an ancient dream, where water becomes a conduit between worlds. "Kamnyn Tysy" lives on the threshold between the physical and the spiritual—where the shaman hears the singing of the mountains and sees the current carrying dreams downstream.

Crossing Borders. Vol. 4

Thу "Waste Dump Flowers" is deep dub-techno with elements of deep house, inspired by the idea that beauty can emerge even among urban waste and industrial landscapes. The track starts with industrial techno sounds, gradually introducing a warm bassline, and by the end, like a flower on the reclaimed hills of an old landfill, a gentle synth sprout unfolds.

“Sonic Buckwit brings us Xenomeld, which features seven addictive tracks that blend excellent rhythms, celestial sound effects and unique melodic elements. Each piece explores a wide palette of otherworldly audio.
'Dobbby Rain' is a spacey and tempered introduction into the vast universe Sonic Buckwit has laid out before us. 'Quicksand' on the other hand, strides a line between quirky and unusual underlying house experimentation within the dub techno sound. The fun in dub techno is often lost because the genre can be so serious. Check 'The Base' for an example which is sure to bring smiles to anyone on the dancefloor. 'Fiolent' is powered by icy cold hi-hats and drums that flap in a cavernous chamber of warming chords. Overall, like with 'Vibrations', there is a beautifully symmetrical aesthetic to this latest Mood Series release where each blends a spacey atmosphere along with a slick groove. Xenomeld is part sci-fi and part dancefloor ammunition. Together, you have an unusual EP jaunt in to next level expression in the dub techno genre."
